The idea for the Institute emerged in 1997 at the University of California, Berkeley. We believed then that in this dynamic health care environment, ideas and information must be disseminated as rapidly, but as accurately, as possible. Although the Institute is independent from the University of California system, the motivation that spurred its development endures.
We offer accurate, timely, and well-documented information about organizations and transactions that exist and occur in today’s healthcare system. HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS range in size and scope from large integrated delivery systems to very specialized organizations that provide behavioral health care, pharmacy benefits management, or disease management services. TRANSACTIONS can occur between consumers and healthcare professionals, between consumers and organizations, and between professionals and the organizations and systems in which they provide services.
